Following Justin Trudeau‘s talk at the Toronto Public Library about his candid memoir Common Ground, NSD Flicka met Catherine Clark, who had moderated Mr. Trudeau’s talk.
Flicka could not contain herself around Mrs. Clark; She rolled onto her back as soon as she met Mrs. Clark and stayed there for a very long time!
Mrs. Clark is the daughter of The Right Honourable Joe Clark, the 16th Prime Minister of Canada from from June 4, 1979, to March 3, 1980.
According to the Cable Public Affairs Channel (CPAC),
“Born into political life in Ottawa, Catherine Clark is no stranger to being in the public eye. As founding host of CPAC’s popular weekly television show Beyond Politics, Catherine interviews Members of Parliament, Premiers and people of influence to reveal the personal, human side of public life. Catherine is also a sought-after public speaker and emcee, and writes the “Giving Back” column for Ottawa at Home Magazine, profiling people who are improving the lives of their fellow citizens.”
Also, according to CPAC and in respect of her show Beyond Politics,
“Host Catherine Clark goes beyond politics to provide a window into the lives of public figures through informal, one-on-one, out-of-studio interviews. Beyond Politics reveals the personal, human side of life in the spotlight, showcasing guests the way they really are – sometimes serious, often hilarious, spirited trailblazers, some young, some older, most hugely committed to their jobs and families – all in all, a lot like the rest of us.”
I had a lovely chat with Mrs. Clark about the wonderful work National Service Dogs is doing with certified service dogs for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), both military and civilian. She seemed genuinely interested, and wanted to learn more. Thank you, Mrs. Clark!
